UPDATE:
Together we gathered 71.5kg of food for the Trusell Trust, Midlothian Foodbank collection, exceeding our target of 50kg!
Well done everyone, and thank you for your support.
Dear All,
As part of the EMERGE-RRG seasonal sense of giving some of us have volunteered personal time for the collection of edible items to donate to food banks and the needy across Edinburgh and local area this Christmas. Personally, having looked in my cupboards I realize there are a number of tasty items that have been sitting there for quite some time, and although I have great intention will probably continue to sit there. So what better an idea than to donate the goods?
If you agree, please take a look in your cupboards and bring what you can spare into the emerge office. Liz MacDonald/Catherine for the ED, Lisa for the RRG and Bev/Caroline in AMU have also agreed to be collection points. Or call 0131 242 3860 and we will come and collect.
This is non-monetary, but if you would prefer to give a few £’s we will arrange for items to be purchased on your behalf.
To give you an idea of what items you might donate;
